Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the screening test of 3-differentiation blood cell analyzer and make the criteria for performing peripheral blood smear review in out-patients and emergency patients.Methods:60 blood smaples in out-patients and emergency patients were determined by Sysmex XE-2100 and CoulterA~C.T diff~(TM) hematology analyzer. As well as,76 blood samples in out-patients and emergency patients were detected by CoulterA~C.T diff~(TM) blood cell analyzer and compared by microscopic examination. Results:Between 3-differential and 5-differential method, there were very good correlations in complete blood counts(CBC),including White Blood Cell(WBC),Red Blood Cell(RBC),Hemoglobin concentration(Hgb) and Platelet count(Plt),r0.90.Nevertheless,the significant difference was observed in neutrophils and lymphocytes between the counting results of two methods.Manual analysis far surpassed automated analysis in lymphocytes,P0.001,But automated analysis far surpassed manual analysis in neutrophils,P0.001,No significant difference was observed in nononuclear,P0.05.Between the manual and automatic method, there were very good correlations in neutrophils and lymphocytes(r0.95),But there was a bad correlation in nononuclear,r0.1.Conclusions:The results on complete blood counts(CBC) by 3-differentiation blood cell analyzer is accurate and reliable for screening test in out-patients and emergency patients,It can also improve the quality and efficiency. But the screening ability to abnormal morphology cells is limited,It is helpful to set up criteria with blood cell microscopic examination, for preventing from leaking and mistaking diagnosis of hematonosis.
