Abstract
Objective To study the chemical constituents of the root of Pueraria lobata. Methods The constituents were isolated by silica gel,ODS,Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and their chemical structures were elucidated by their physicochemical properties and spectral analysis. Results Thirteen compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as lupeol(1),formononetin(2),salicylic acid(3),quercetin(4),genistein(5),2,3-dihydroxypropyl palmitate(6),puerarol(7),daidzein(8),daidzin(9),puerarin(10),ononin(11),gallic acid(12),3′-methoxy puerarin(13).Conclusions Compound 6 is obtained for the first time from this genus, compound 1 is obtained for the first time from this plant.
