Abstract

Objective To study the mechanism of T helper cells differentiation, antigen presentation process abnormality and immunologic injury in chronic hepatitis B patients through detection of serum interleukin- 10 in peripheral blood and the expression of CD28 on lymphocyte. Methods One thousand patients and 500 healthy controls were selected for serum detection. The proportion of CD28+,CD28+/ CD4+,CD28+/ CD8+T lymphocytes were detected by flow cytometer, while IL- 10 level change in all these specimens was observed to study Th1 cytokine expression differences among different groups. Results IL-10 levels of chronic hepatitis B patients and acute hepatitis B patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls( P 0. 05),but there was no statistical difference between acute hepatitis B patients and chronic hepatitis B patients( P 0. 05). The proportion of CD28+,CD28+/ CD4+,CD28+/ CD8+lymphocytes was highest in acute hepatitis B patients, followed by chronic hepatitis patients and healthy controls, and the difference had statistical significance between acute hepatitis B patients and any other group( P 0. 05). Conclusion IL- 10 is beneficial for cell differentiation and improving cellular immune response,it is a necessary factor to clear the virus. High level expression of CD28 molecules can help to enhance the immune response to virus and play an important role in clearing the hepatitis B virus.
