Abstract
The water-in-water emulsion of polyacrylamide was synthesized by dispersion polymerization, using methanol-water as media, polyvinylpyrrlidone as stabilizer and potassium persulfate as initiator. The effect of the ratio of methanol to water, the kind and concentration of stabilizer on the stability of emulsion, and the effect of monomer concentration, the amounts of initiator and the reaction temperature on the reaction rate and the molecular weight of polyacrylamide were all investigated.
