Zhu Xi's Epistemological Hermeneutics and Lu Jiuyuan's Practical Hermeneutics

Zhu Xi's philosophy holds that the essential task of understanding is to exhaustively pursue principle while investigating things and reading books are two external principles pursuing,researching from to as perfect methods.Zhu Xi' assertion of that knowledge precedes practice shows that understanding is only considered epistemologically.ZHU Xi's theory of understanding belongs to epistemological hermeneutics.But Lu Jiuyuan's philosophy of mind turns to another way that to develop and enlighten one's original mind is the inner key to understand principle,and researching from general to specific is the important method which can ensure one to arrive at his aim of understanding.The theory about unity of knowledge and practice stresses on phronesis(practical wisdom) in the process of understanding.Lu Jiuyuan's theory of understanding shows its visual field of practical hermeneutics.
