Abstract
In order to improve the noise attenuation performance of a muffler,a three-dimensional finite element method is implemented to assess the TL and the attenuation performance of the muffler need to be improved. The software fluent is used to simulate the aeroacoustics characteristic of the muffler and to obtain the pressure loss, flow velocity and the turbulence situation. An improvement scheme is proposed based on the results of study which acquire good effects.
