Abstract
Objective To study the significance of PCNA expression in breast cancer and its interrelation with ER.PR,C erbB 2 protein,nm23 protein expression. Methods The expression of PCNA was analyzed in 82 cases with breast cancer by microwave antigen retrieval immunohistochemical staining (S P methods). Results The immunoreaction of PCNA was localized in the nuclei of cell. The overexpression of PCNA in breast cancer was 48.78%(40/82);It was correlated with poor differentiation, lymphnode metastasis, advanced stage and poor prognosis, but it had no significant correlation with patient's age, tumour size,ER,PR C erbB 2 protein,nm23 protein expression of breast cancer.Conclutions PCNA overexpression may be an important index for poor differentiation, metastasis and poor prognosis of breast cancer.
