Abstract

Objectives To explore the positive expression of PTEN protein in the tissues of cervical squamous cell cancer(CSCC) and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN).Methods The protein expression of PTEN was detected by SP immunohistochemical stain(IHC) method in 92 cases of CSCC,normal tissues surrounding tissue, and 40 cases of CIN.Results The positive protein expression of PTEN in CSCC,CIN and normal tissue was 19.57%,42.5%and 97.83%,respectively.There vyere statistical difference among three groups(P0.01 or P0.05).The positive protein expression of CINⅠ,CINⅡand CINⅢwas 66.67%,35.71%and 18.18%respectively. There was statistical between CINⅠand CINⅡ,CINⅢ(P0.05) groups, while no difference between CINⅡand CINⅢ(P0.05).The expression of PTEN in CSCC was decreased with the progression of TNM stage, while no statistical difference in grading of age and tissue(P0.05).Conclusion The protein expression of PTEN was gradually decreased with the development of CSCC,suggested that the decrease expression of PTEN was the indication of earlier stage of CSCC,as well as the signal of canceration of cervical tissue.
