Abstract
Objective To investigate the outcomes and complications of cataract extraction with phacoemulsification and capsular intraocutar lens implantation in diabetic cataract patients. Methods Cataract extraction with phacoemulsification and capsular mtraocular lens implantation surgery was carried out in 56 individuals(58eyes)with diabetic cataract(diabetes group) and 62 individuals(74eyes)with non-diabetic cataract(non.diabetes group). Results No severe complications was found at operation and postoperation in the two groups.55.4%of diabetes group had a postoperative visual acuity better than 0.6, 61.7%of non-diabetes group had a postoperative visual acuity better than 0.6,two groups had no diffence sinificantly(P0.05). Conclusion If the diabetic cataract patients' blood sugar were controlled to a definite level, the patients didn't have systemic severe complications and no severe complications in the eyes, cataract extraction with phacoemulsification and capsular mtraocular lens implantation suagery was safe.
