The Treatment of 75 Patients with Drug Postabortal Bleeding by Acupoint Mild Moxibustion Plus Chinese Medicine

Abstract

Purpose To investigate the curative effect of acupoint mild moxibustion plus oral Chinese medicine on vaginal bleeding after drug abortion. Methods A treatment group of 75 patients received mild moxa-stick moxibustion on points Yinbai (SP 1) and Dadun (LR 1) with the cooperation of oral Chinese medicine decoction (modified decoction for postpartum troubles). A control group of 75 patients received Western medicine. Results After 5 days, the recovery rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 81.3% in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Mild moxibustion plus oral Chinese medicine has a marked effect on vaginal bleeding after drug abortion. The curative effect is superior to that in the control group.
