Randomized Controlled Study on Acupuncture-moxibustion for Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture-moxibustion in treating dysfunctional uterine bleeding.Method 252 patients were randomized into an acupuncture-moxibustion group,a Western medicine group and a Chinese medicine group,84 in each group,for comparing the clinical effects.Result The total effective rate was 95.2% in the acupuncture-moxibustion group,versus 83.3% in the Western medicine group and 85.7% in the Chinese medicine group,and the differences were statistically significant(P0.01,P0.05).The difference between the Chinese medicine group and Western medicine group in the total effective rate was insignificant(P0.05).Conclusion The treatment result of the acupuncture-moxibustion group was markedly superior to that of the Chinese medicine group and Western medicine group.
