Effects of electroacupuncture on nerve growth guidance cue netrin - 1 of rats after sciatic nerve injury

Objective Purpose To approach to the effects on nerve growth guidance cue Netrin-1 of rats after sciatic nerve injury.Methods 72 healthy SD rats were randomly divided into control group,model group the electroacupuncture(EA) group(n = 24).In the latter two groups,the right sciatic nerve was transected end-to-end suture immediately.The treatment of EA on Huantiao(GB 30) and Zusanli(ST 36) was applied once daily,and 7 days a course of treatment,continuous treatment of three courses.The changes in expression of Netrin-1 Netrin-1mRNA in sciatic nerve corresponding section of spinal cord were detected by RT-PCR immunohistochemical methods after the end of each course of treatment.Results EA group compared with model group,Netrin-1 its mRNA in the injured rat sciatic nerve spinal cord segments reached a peak after the first course of treatment,then decreased gradually,and are higher than the model group,there was a remarkably significant difference(P 0.01),and the two groups is always higher than the control group,there are also remarkably significant differences(P 0.01).Conclusion EA treatment can remarkably strengthen expression of Netrin-1of slit1 Netrin 1mRNA in sciatic nerve corresponding section of spinal cord after sciatic nerve injury.
