Abstract
Objective:To explore the mechanism of the electro-acupuncture(EA)therapy for the sciatic nerve injury.Methods:Twenty-four rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups(8 in each group):blank control group, model control group and EA treatment group. The animal model of right sciatic nerve injury(SunderlandⅣdegree)was made by means of micrometer measurement. Then only the EA treatment group was treated with EA,and the level of nerve growth factor of the corresponding segment spin in all 3 groups was examined by in-situ-hybridization after 4 therapeutic courses(for 48 days). Results:The expression of NGF-mRNA in EA group was more obvious than that of model control group(P0.05).Conclusions:EA can strengthen the expression of NGF-mRNA in animals with sciatic nerve injury and promote the repaiment and reproduction of sciatic nerves.
