Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of intravenous transplantation of marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) on heart function of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) rats. Methods Acute myocardial infarction(AMI) was created by occluding the left anterior descending branch of coronary artery(LAD) in SD rats.MSCs were isolated, purified and amplified from the rats and labeled with DAPI.One week after AMI,the labeled MSCs were transfused to AMI rats(n=10) through caudal vein and the culture medium was transfused to the control group(n=10).Four weeks later, the heart function was evaluated and immunochemical analysis was performed. Results Four weeks after AMI,the labeled cells were viable in the recipient hearts and immunochemical staining revealed that the engrafted stem cells expressed a-Actin.In contrast with control group, the heart function of MSCs-group had significant improvement(P0.05).Conclusion Intravenously transplanted MSCs can migrate into the damaged heart and improve the damaged heart function.
