Abstract
Objective To compare the effects of outside-capsule extirpation of cataract and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy and cataract extraction with phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy in surgery on the cataract patients with glaucoma. Methods There are 62 cataract patients with glaucoma.Extracapsular extraction with intraocular lens implantation(IOL) was performed on 37cases(A group).Phacoemulsification also with IOL was performed on 25 cases(B group). Results 12 months after the surgery vision was improved to 0.3 or better in eyes(72.95%),62 eyes' intraocular pressure less than 19.16 mmhg. Conclusion The two surgical procedures have the same effect in depressing intraocular pressure, reducing the scarring formation at filtering blebs and elevates the success rate of filtration surgery.
