Abstract
Objective To investigate the effection of atorvastatin on myocardial fibrosis in rats with myocardial infraction. Methods 41 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=14)and AMI group(n=27).Rats in AMI group were induced by left anterior descending branch ligation.27 rats were randomly divided into AMI control group(n=13)and atorvastatin group(n=14).Rats in atorvastatin group were treated with atorvastatin gavage (5mg/kg) everyday, continued for 4 weeks. In AMI control group and sham operation group were treated with drinking water. The target segments of cardiotrophin-1 and GAPDH proliferated by Real Time PCR were diluted and used as the standard templates.Cardiotrophin-1 was detected in those groups by relative quantitative method.Cardiac tissue collagen type Ⅰ was measured by immunohistochemistry. Results In AMI group the mRNA expression of CT-1,cardiac tissue collagen type Ⅰand left ventricular weight index in the non-infraction zone were significantly higher than these in the sham operation group.Compared with AMI control group, the atorvastatin administered group displayed significant reduction of these data.AMI control group and atorvastatin in the intervention group of non-infarcted myocardial tissue in CT-1 mRNA with the changes in collagen typeⅠa positive correlation, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin may inhibit myocardial fibrosis after myocardial infraction by anti-inflammatory.
