Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin on the expression of cytokine after acute myocardial infarction in rats.Methods Thirty-four male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=10) and AMI group(n=24).AMI group was induced by left anterior descending branch ligation.AMI group was randomly divided into AMI control group(n=12) and atorvastatin group(n=12).Rats in atorvastatin group received,gastric gavage with atorvastatin,5 mg/(kg·d) for 4 weeks,and AMI control group and sham operation group were treated with drinking water.The target segments of cardiotrephin-1,interleukin-1β,brain natriuretic peptide and GAPDH which is used as the intracomparison,were protiferated by Real Time PCR,Their different expressions were analyzed by relative quantitative method.Results In AMI group the mRNA expression of CT-1,IL-1β,BNP and left ventricular weight index in the non-infraction zone were significantly higher than these in the sham operation group(all P0.05).Compared with AMI control group,the atorvastatin group displayed significant reduction of these data(all P0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin may inhibit ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction in rats by anti-inflammatory effect.
