Abstract
After working in traffic noise control for several years,Author has described the noise barrier's design and layout principles from the acoustic requirements,such as the location-height-length of noise barrier,as well as the materials and design requirements.With this understanding,Author has given several examples for different road noise characteristics and the surrounding environment in shanghai,and analyzes the different noise barrier's design and effectiveness.At the same time,after comparative analysis of the investment costs between full-closed noise barrier and the land-use on both sides of the urban traffic road,author has offered proposals of the full-closed noise barrier design,and made the economic feasibility analysis for example.
