Abstract
Objective: To study the expression of Fas protein in gastric carcinoma and to explore the function and significance of Fas protein in progression of gastric carcinoma.Method: The Fas protein expression in 52 gastric carcinomas,52 pericarcinoma tissues and 10 normal gastric mucus were detected by S-P method of immunohistochemistry method. Results: Among 52 gastric carcinomas, the positive espression rate of Fas protein is 46.1%(24/52),while among 52 pericarcinoma tissues, the positive expression rate of Fas protein is 65.3%(34/52),and the positive expression rate of Fas protein in contrast group is 90%(9/10).Conclusion: The abnormal expression of Fas protein has correlation to the beginning and development of gastric carcinoma, and the low expression of Fas protein maybe correlate to the immune escape of the carcinoma cells in beginning and development of gastric carcinoma.
