Abstract
The imperial examination system had an improtant influence on the Manchu language in Qing Dynasty. On the one hand, the arts exam undermined the status of Manchu language,on the other hand, the translation exam trained a lot of bilingual personnel, many of which tried hard to compose Manchu documents and translated Chinese classics. This could not only delay the process of Manchu language recession, but also promot the exchange and integration of Manchu and Han culture.
