Abstract

The book Sishu had been translated in Manchu in early Qing Dynasty. After ascending to the throne, the Emperor Qianlong ordered to reedit the Manchu translation of it which was engraved by Wuyingdian. There is a such edition in the First Historic Archives of China. It not only reappears the editing station of Manchu translation from Chinese in Qing Dynasty, but also reflects the language and culture merging together of Manchu and Chinese. So it could be taken as one of the important objects in Manchu ancient books and Manchu language research.
