Clinical study of Yiqiyangyintongluo for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the Yiqiyangyintongluo method for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy (DR) with syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin and blood stasis.Methods There were 118 eyes of 59 patients of DR with syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin and blood stasis,they were enrolled and treated under the standard inclusion and exclusion criteria.Twenty nine patients(58 eyes) were treated with Yiqiyangyintongluo prescription;thirty patients(60 eyes) were treated with doxium(calcium dobesilate).After 3 months,periodic examinations and data of clinical curative effects, eyesight,ocular fundus(level of microangiopathy and maculutea edema),blood sugar and blood lipid were collected in each patient.Results There was a significant difference of therapeutic efficiency between the treatment group(84.49%) and the control group(68.33%,P0.05).The eyesight,eyeground pathology and total retinal circulation time improved in the treatment group and control group(P0.05),the effect in treatment group was better than control group(P0.05).The lab test was no more difference between the two groups,and no side effect was found in the two groups.Conclusion The Yiqiyangyintongluo method has effective clinical effect in treating of diabetic retinopathy.
