Abstract

To study the difference of clinical features between end-stage primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC)and hepatitis B virus-related deeompensated liver cirrhosis.Forty-eight cases with PBC and ascites(PBC group)and thirty-three cases with hepatitis B virus-related deeompensated liver cirrhosis and ascites(HBV group)were analyzed. The clinical mani- festations and the results of laboratory tests of both groups were studied. The major symptoms in patients of both groups were abdominal distention, fatigability, anorexia, and pruritus.Patients in PBC group have higher rate of pruritus and hepato- megaly than HBV group (P<0.05).After analyzing the results of laboratory tests in patients of both groups with advanced cirrhosis(Child-Pugh class C),we found that ALT,AST,GLO,Tcho,TG,CHE,Bil,TBA,PA,ALP,GGT,WBC and PLT in PBC group patients were higher than those in HBV group (P<0.05).In clinical manifestations and the results of laboratory tests,PBC group was differentfrom HBV group. It helps us to improve the diagnosis and management of PBC.
