Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of rosuvastatin on the carotid artery intima-media thickness and inflammatory response in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods Ninty-four patients with acute cerebral infarction patients were divided into treatment group(48 patients) and control group(46 patients). The control group received routine treatment, not taking statins, the treatment group increased oral rosuvastatin calcium(10 mg/time,once a day) on the basis of conventional treatment. Both groups received continuous medication for 6 months.Efficacy, carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) concentration were observed in the two groups before and after treatment. Results After 6 months treatment, the neurological deficit score of the treatment group was significantly lower than the control group and before treatment(all P0.01),the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.05).The IMT,serum hs-CRP levels of the treatment group were significantly lower than that before treatment and the control groups(P0.05 or P0.01),the adverse reactions of rosuvastatin were mild. Conclusion Rosuvastatin can reduce carotid intima-media thickness and hs-CRP levels, reduce blood vessel inflammation, stability and reduce carotid atherosclerotic plaques, and the effect is obvious, the security is good.
