Analysis on the revenue and expenditure in Shanghai community health service centers

Objective:Finding out revenue and expenditure of community health services in Shanghai from 2004 to 2008 year,in order to provide references for the medical and health system reform in Shanghai.Methods:Using self-develop questionnaire to survey 140 community health service centers in 19 areas randomly in Shanghai.Results: The average annual growth rate of community health service centers include total income,medical income,drug income,total expenditures and drug costs were 13.52%,3.79%,13.38%,14.45%and 17.36%.Conclusion: Based on government supporting,the community health service centers in Shanghai showed the vigorous development, but in the revenue structure and the balance development between the regions(urban,suburban,urban and rural areas bordering) also requires further refinement.
