Field Tests of 1% Matrine Solution to Control Grassland Locust

Abstract

Matrine is a new type of biological control preparation with lots of advantages,such as human and livestock safty,no pollution,local materials availability and economic benefits.To determine its effects on grassland locust control,taking 4.5% cypermethrin EC as CK,1% matrine solution were applied doses of 4.5 g/hm2,6.0 g/hm2 and 7.5 g/hm2 in 2010 and 2011.The results showed that 1% matrine solution had a nice inhibitory effect against grassland locust,which were both higher than 90% in 2 years tests.The registration of pharmaceutical matrine products and the production of chemicals against grassland locusts could be further developed.
