Abstract

The result of progeny test of 57 open-pollinated families of Cunninghamia lanceolata showed that height、DBH、volume of 8-years seedlings in seed orchard exceeded 5.85%、11.67% and 31.08% of those contrasts, and the CV was 20%、22.16% and 58.44% respectively. The variance analysis showed there were significant difference among timber families in height、DBH and volume, and individual heritability was 0.26、0.35 and 0.36,and family heritability was 0.56、0.69 and 0.68 in order. Those 15% volume exceeding family averages as a criterion,13 super families were selected, which average genetic gain was 22.9%.
