Observations on influences of treatment with astragalus injection(黄芪注射液)combined with tetrame thylpyrazine injection (川芎嗪注射液) on changes in plasma lipids,blood viscosity,and renal functions in patients with diabetic nephropathy

Objective:To investigate the changes in plasma lipids,blood visocosity,and renal functions on treatment with astragalus injection(黄芪注射液) combined with tetramethylpyrazine injection (川芎嗪注射液) for patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN).Methods:50 patients with DN based on conventional therapy for diabetes were treated with astragalus injection 4080 mg and tetramethylpyrazine injection 200400 mg+normal saline 250 ml respectively infused intravenously once a day for 24 weeks as a therapeutic course.Results:After abovementioned therapy all the parameters of plasma lipids and blood viscosity as well as the volume of urinary protein compared to before therapy were significantly decreased (all P 0 01) meanwhile the serum creatinine(SCr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and fibrinogen were also significantly depressed (all P 0 05).Conclusions:Astragalus injection possesses the actions on invigorating the spleen and kidney (补益脾肾),supplementing qi and Yang (益气升阳),promoting the circulation of qi and inducing diuresis (行气利水) and tetramethylpyrazine possessed the actions of promoting blood and qi circulation(活血行气),decreasing blood viscosity and urinary protein,and protecting renal function.Treatment with astragalus injection and tetramethylpyrazine injection for DN has markedly curative effects.
