Abstract

Objective To improve the nursing quality of intravenous infusion by the establishment of the special intravenous infusion group in clinical departments. Methods From May 2010 to May 2011,all the patients completed their intravenous infusion process under the guidance of the special team members.Investigations were conducted before and one year after the establishment of the special intravenous infusion group concerning the infusion methods, the incidence of intravenous infusion complications, the incidence of adverse drug reactions and patients' satisfaction of infusion treatment. Results There were significant differences on the infusion methods before and after the establishement of the special intravenous infusion group(P0.05).However,the incidences of phlebitis, intravenous extravasation and intravenous infusion-related infection as well as adverse drug reactions were significnatly decreased and patients' satisfaction rate was significantly increased(P0.05).Conclusion It is beneficial to improve clinical nursing quality and elevate patients' satisfaction rate by establishing the special intravenous infusion group.
