Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of secretory otitis media children under endotoscope tympanostomy tube. Methods One hundred and fifty-two secretory otitis media children who were in the ear-nose-throat department of our hospital from February 2010 to May 2012 were chosen as the research objects, they were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group with 76 cases in each. The patients in the control group were given traditional chinese medicine treatment while the patients in the experimental group were given endotoscope tympanostomy tube treatment. The clinical curative effect were compared. Results The efficiency rate of the experimental group were higher than that of the control group(78.95% vs 47.37%, P0.05), the total efficiency rate of the experimental group were higher than that of the control group(97.37% vs 68.42%, P0.05). Average effusion time and recurrence rate of the experimental group were lower than that of the control group(P0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of secretory otitis media children under endotoscope tympanostomy tube is quite. It is superior to traditional chinese medicine treatment. It has a safe and effective and less adverse reaction etc, is worth further promotion in clinic.
