Expression and significance of CDK4 mRNA expression in breast cancer tissues

Objective To explore the expression and significance of CDK4 mRNA in breast carcinomas.Methods The expressions of CDK4 mRNA of breast cancer tissues and tumor-adjacent tissues in 45 patients and normal breast tissues in 25 cotrols were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The positive rates of CDK4 mRNA expression in breast cancer tissues,tumor-adjacent breast tissues and normal breast tissues were 51.11%,15.56% and 0,respectively(P0.05).The expression level of CDK4 mRNA in breast carcinoma was significantly associated with histological degree,lymph node metastases (P0.01),and little associated with ER and PR status(P0.05).Conclusion The CDK4 mRNA plays a key role in the oncogenesis,development and lymph node metastases of breast cancer and could be an useful marmer for assessing the malignant level of breast carcinoma and its clinical prognosis.
