Drug Resistance Analysis of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in Patients with Lower Respiratory Trace Infection

Abstract

Objective To study resistance and the change of Pseudomonas aeruginosa of respiratory system infection, and instruct the antibacterial medicine to use rationally. Methods The respiratory system infection patients from Jan 2007 to Dec 2008 were investigated. To the results of MICs with108 P.aeruginosa strains were analyzed. Results A total of 108 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from 870 specimens, which accounted for 12.4%,Imipenem had the best antibiotic activity and with the lowest drug resistance rate (15.7%),followed by amikacin (30.6%). Conclusions P.aeruginosa is still a major pathogenic bacterium in our hospital. It is very important to select antibiotics correctly according to the results of susceptibility tests.
