Abstract

Objective To study the rehabilitative effectiveness and mechanism of combined treatment for knee joint osteoarthritis. Methods 108 cases of knee joint osteoarthritis were divided into two groups: control group and treatment group. 52 cases in control group were treated with computerized medium frequency current therapy and ionotherapy; 56 cases in treatment group were treated with the above methods and were added with combined treatment such as thermotherapy, exercise therapy and ADL etc. After 3 courses, lysholm knee joint score was used for medical evaluation. Results In the control group, 8 cases were excellent,12 good,25 moderate, 7 poor ; in the treatment group,18 excellent ,25 good , 9 moderate, 4 poor . There were statistically significant differences for the effectiveness between two groups (P0.01). The difference means of functional determination before and after treatment were:(1.19±0.72) grade in control group and (1.63±0.73) grade in treatment group, there were statistically significant differences between two groups (P0.01). The difference means of knee joint score before and after treatment were:(26.13±13.19) grade in control group and (34.23±12.90) grade in treatment group, there were statistically significant differences between two groups.(P0.01). The average frequency of treatment in treatment group was (20.11±6.04) times and (27.00± 2.93 ) times in control group, there were statistically significant differences between two groups(P0.01). Conclusion The combined treatment is of greater rehabilitative value for knee joint osteoarthritis.
