Abstract
Objective To explore the application of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC) in nursing intervention phlebitis of patients induced by 5-FU pump. Methods All 86 cases of gastrointestinal malignant tumor patients according to the will of the patients were divided into experimental group(n=44) and control group(n=42).During using the automat infusion pump, the experimental group received PICC tube, while the control group received peripheral venous indwelling needle. Both of them adopt FOLFOX4 OR FOLFOX6 in accordance with doctor's advice. Both groups received 20 ml saline twice daily as 5-FU was pumped.Observe and compare with the prevalence of phlebitis. Results The morbidity rate of the experimental group was 4.54% and of the control group was 69.04%.The phlebitis rate of experimental group was lower than that of the control;the level of phlebitis was obviously reduced. There was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusion PICC can effectively prevent prevalence of phlebitis during using 5-FU pump, and is significantly reduced the rate of phlebitis.PICC can be recommended during using 5-FU pump.
