Abstract
Objectives To study the expression of CD 44 V 6 and its significance in non small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC).Methods The CD 44 V 6 expression in 40 samples of NSCLC and 30 samples of normal lung tissues were studied by immunohistochemical S-P technique. Results It was found that the expression of CD 44 V 6 in NSCLC was significantly higher than those in normal lung tissue (P0.01);the expression of CD 44 V 6 was not correlated with various histologic types and pathologic grades, but it was associated with clinical stages and lymphaden metastasis. Conclusions The results surgest that CD 44 V 6 positive expression is likely to develope lymphatic metastasis and result in poor prognosis in NSCLC.CD 44 V 6 is considered as one of the indicators for evaluating the progression of lung carcinoma.
