Abstract

The extraction methods of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)are introduced.The effects of conditions on compositions and content of EPS,and the effects of EPS on membrane fouling of membrane bioreactors are analyzed.It is pointed out that the membrane fouling can be avoided effectively through rational design and enhancement of the operation and management.
