Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of different dosages of soybean isoflavones on serum lipid level in Hyperlipidemia rats. Methods: 75 male Wistar rats were selected. In the 75 rats,15 were given basal diet as a control group and the remaining rats were given high fat diet. After four weeks of feeding, the animals were divided into four groups randomly based on total cholesterol(TC) value :high fat diet control group, low dose SI group(high fat diet +30mg/(kg·d)),middle dose SI group(high fat diet +90mg/(kg·d)),high dose SI group(high fat diet +270mg/(kg·d)).Continuous feeding for 12 weeks, the rats serum TC,TG,LDL levels were measured respectively at the 0,4th,8th,12th and 16th week. Results: Compared with the control group, the serum TC,TG and LDL levels were increased in high fat diet group(P0.05);the serum TC,LDL levels were decreased significantly in middle and high-dose SI group(P0.05),the low dose SI group had no significant effect on serum TC,LDL(P0.05);the serum TG level was decreased significantly in high-dose SI group(P0.05),the low and middle-dose SI group had no significant effect on serum TG(P0.05).And the more soybean isoflavones were taken by the Hyperlipidemia rats, and the more lipid-lowering effect appeared. Conclusion: Soy isoflavones can reduce the levels of TC,TG,LDL in Hyperlipidemia rats, and its effects are dose-dependent.
