An Analysis of Pathological and Immunohistochemical Characteristics of 26 Cases of Gastriointestinal Stromal Tumor

Objective To investigate pathological and immunohistochemical gastrointestinal characteristics gastriointestinal stromal tumor(GIST).Methods Immunohistochemisty method(SP) was applied to observe the protein expression of CD117、CD34、desmin、S-100、vimentin from 26 cases of GIST.Results Microscopically,the tumors were mainly composed of epithelioid cells,although various histological and morphological characteristics were observed.Immunohistochemically,strongly positive staining of both CD117(76.9%) and CD34(73.1%) were detected in the tumors.Furthermore,positive correlation was found between the expression of CD117 and CD34 protein.In GIST,Desmin,S-100 and Vimentin protein with a positive rate of 26.9%,11.5%and 69.2%,respectively.Conclusion Highly expression of CD117 and CD34 was detected in GIST,which can be considered as helpful diagnosis parameters.
