Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of Xiezhuo Jiedu Decoction on the expressions of colonic NF-κBp65 and ICAM-1 in ulcerative colitis rats and study its mechanisms. Methods 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS)/ethanol solution was administered by enema to make ulcerative colitis model. Five groups were set up in the experiment:normal group,model group,salazosulfamide group,low-dose Xiezhuo Jiedu Decoction group,and high-dose Xiezhuo Jiedu Decoction group. The pathomorphological changes of the rats'colon and CMDI scores were observed,and NF-κBp65 and ICAM-1 were assayed by immunohistochemical staining. Results Xiezhuo Jiedu Decoction could significantly reduce the CMDI sores and reduce the expressions of NF-κBp65 and ICAM-1. Conclusion Xiezhuo Jiedu Decoction has good effects on ulcerative colitis by reducing the expressions of NF-κBp65 and ICAM-1.
