Abstract

Objective To explore the attribution of serum bilirubin to the prognosis in patients with cerebral infarction. Methods Patients were divided into four groups according to the sex and serum bilirubin, serum bilirubin were measured for the second time at 14th day after onset, and clinical deficiency were assessed at the same time.Four groups were compared with healthy control people. Results The patients with higher serum bilirubin were better than the lower ones on prognosis. After 14 days, the patients′serum bilirubin with higher serum bilirubin descended, but there was no changes in the lower groups.Corulusions Higher serum bilirubin was a kind of protective reaction to the infarction, patients with higher serum bilirubin had a better outcome than that of lower ones.
