Abstract

Objective To evaluate the relationship between nm23 H1 gene expression and biological behavior and lymph node(LN)metastasis of gastric cancer. Methods The levels of nm23 H1 /NDPK expression was observed in 75 cases of gastric cancer using immunohistochemistry technique. Results The positive rate of nm23 H1 expression was 59% in 75 cases of gastric cancer nm23 H1 expression was significantly reduced in gastric cancer with infiltrated serosa(T3/T4),the number of LN metastasis above 5 and metastasis to group 2 and up, stage Ⅲ and up,and positive peritoneal metastasis ( P 0 05-0 025 each). There was significant difference in the 5 year's survival rate of between positive and negative groups of nm23 H1 expression ( P 0 05).Conclusions The expression of nm23 H1 correlates with invasion, metastasis and prognosis of gastric cancer, hence it may have a value in evaluating the status of LN metastasis of gastric cancer.
