Abstract

Objective To study the mechanism and clinical significance of the expression of nm23-H1 and CD44V6 in infiltration and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer. Methods Expression of nm23-H1 and CD44V6 protein was detected by LSAB immunohistochemical technique in 65 patients with gastric cancer. Results Expression of nm23-H1 was negatively correlated to invasion depth, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage of gastric cancer. It was positively correlated to the prognosis of the patients.Expression of CD44V6 was positively correlated to the invasion depth, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage.Patients with positive expression of CD44V6 had lower 3-year survival rate than those with negative CD44V6(P0.05).Conclusion The results showed that the expression of nm23-H1 and CD44V6 was significantly related to the carcinogenesis, progression and prognosis of gastric cancer, and may be used as hopeful markers for predicting the prognosis of gastric cancer.
