The paper discusses the objective necessity of separating public geological work from commercial geological work. It also analyses the objective necessity and new structure and new change of localized management of geological exploration team. Moreover, the paper makes a prospect for reform and development of geological work. Then, it gives relevant suggestions, such as establishing and improving national geological work system, accelerating and perfecting geological exploration market, fulfilling business management in geological exploration organization, and strengthening governmental macro-adjustment control.
