The paper analyses the realistic situation of the commercial and public geological work in China and points out that commercial geological work develop slowly.Therefore at the time of the issuance of the Decision of the State Council on Strengthening Geological Work,we should catch the chance to promote healthy development of commercial geological work in China by taking the following measures such as expand the scale of geological work in earlier stage,foster and perfect the market of geological survey,diversify the investment channels of geological survey,establishing various forms of geological and prospecting enterprises etc.
