Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of carvedilol combined with perindopril on chronic congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods 76 patients with mild and moderate CHF were randomized into two groups:treatment group and control group,38 patients in each group. The dose of both carvedilol and perindopril should from low dose to target. The left ventricular function and volume of all the patients were examined by echocardiography 3 times during 12 months. Results The left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) increased in two groups, however, the left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV) and left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV) decreased in two groups.Compare to the control group, the changes were more significant in treatment group.27 patients in treatment group tolerate the target dose.Dizziness was the main side effect. There was no significant difference in side effect between the two groups. No obvious change of liver or renal function, electrolyte and blood sugar was found in two groups. Conclusion The combination of carvedilol and perindopril is effective and safe in treating mild and moderate CHF,and it can obviously improve the remodeling of left ventricle.
