Abstract
With mature embryos as explants, studied on the effects of different media auxins and their concentrations on inducing maize mature embryo callus were conducted. The results showed that the induction rate of mature embryo callus on N6 medium was slightly higher than that on MS medium, and the quality of mature embryo callus induced on N6 medium was also better than that on MS medium. In addition, types of auxins and their concentrations showed greater influences on inducing mature embryo callus, and adding 2,4-D in MS and N6 media was more favorable than adding NAA.Among these, the lower concentration of NAA(1.0~3.0 mg/L) and the middle to higher concentration of 2,4-D(2.0~5.0 mg/L) in culture media were favorable to inducing of maize mature embryo callus.
