Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical value of the combined detection of carcinoembryonic antigen( CEA),carbohydrate antigen 125( CA125),cytokeratin 19 fragment( CYFRA21-1),neuron specific enolase( NSE) in the diagnosis of lung cancer. Methods: The serum levels of CEA,CA125,CYFRA21-1 and NSE were determined by Radioimmunoassay in 112 patients with lung cancer and 38 patients with benign pulmonary disease and 36 health adults. Results: The serum levels of four tumor markers were significantly higher in patients with lung cancer than those with benign pulmonary disease and / or health adults( all P 0. 01). The combined detection of four tumor markers demonstrated higher sensitivity( 83. 93%) and accuracy( 87. 63%) in the lung caner compared with any single tumor marker detection( all P 0. 05). Conclusion: There is certain diagnostic value of CEA、CA125、CYFRA21-1 and NSE in lung cancer, and complementarity of combined detection of the four markers, which could significantly improve sensitivity and accuracy in the diagnosis of lung cancer.
