Clinical Value of Combined Detection of Tumor Markers for Lung Cancer

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the clinical significance of multiple combined detection of tumor markers for lung cancer.Methods:The levels of CEA,NSE,CYFRA21-1 and CA125 in serum of 91 patients with lung cancer,58 patients with benign lung diseases and 48 normal healthy people were measured by radioimmunoassay.Results:The serum levels of markers CEA,NSE,CYFRA21-1 and CA125 and the positive rate in the lung cancer group were higher than those in the benign lung diseases group and the normal control group.There was statistical difference(P0.01).The detective levels and the sensitivity of the four tumor markers CEA,NSE,CYFRA21-1 and CA125 were related to the pathology type.The serum CEA was highest in adenocarcinoma,the serum NSE was highest in small-cell lung cancer,the serum CYFRA21-1 was highest in squamous cell cancer and the serum CA125 was highest in non-small-cell lung cancer respectively.The sensitivity was 90.8% and the specificity was 86.5% by the combined detection serum CEA,NSE,CYFRA21-1 and CA125 for diagnosis of lung cancer.Conclusion: The combined detection of the tumor markers may improve the sensitivity and specificity for diagnosis of lung cancer.
