Analysis on drug consultation cases in Out-Patient Department

Objective:To improve the quality of pharmaceutical service.Methods:Retrospective analyzing of 12 984 records of drug consultation cases in Out-patient Department of our hospital during the period from August 2005 to May 2008.Results:Most of the consultants were patients,approximately 76.0%.The contents of these drug consultation cases were mostly drug names and indications.A large part of consultation cases were by windows consulting.Direct responses were the main ways of answering.Conclusion:The job of drug consultation could develop the professional capabilities of pharmacy staff and take advantages to improve the safety,effectiveness and economy of clinical medication.
