Abstract

Objective To study the expression of CD44v6 and its relationship with lymph node metastasis and prognosis in lung carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method (SP method) was used to detect the expression of CD44v6 in 79 lung carcinoma specimens. Results The expression of CD44v6 was much lower in patients with lymph node metastasis than in those without (P0.05). No significant difference in short-term survival rate was found between the patients with cancer tissue CD44v6 positive and negative separately. Conclusion The expression of CD44v6 is not an independent prognostic factor of lung carcinoma. It is closely related to lymph node metastasis, but its actual role needs further study.
